A substance called clonazepam, which is used to treat seizures, panic attacks, and anxiety, is consumed during the challenge with the motto “The last one to fall asleep wins,” according to a report by news agency AFP early on Saturday (January 21). Clonazepam has drowsiness as one of its adverse effects.
On TikTok, several videos of individuals taking the medication and documenting the results as well as cautionary messages regarding the risks of the challenge have been posted. Five adolescents who were intoxicated at a school on Thursday were treated by paramedics, according to Mexico City’s public security agency. Authorities in the northern state of Nuevo Leon, however, observed three similar instances. Nobody among the students had a major illness.According to Alma Rosa, Nuevo Leon’s health secretary, such problems that spread via networks frequently endanger people’s lives. This TikTok challenge has previously been spotted in Chile. The youngster was “incentivized” to complete the assignment that took her life, according to Soto’s aunt, who spoke to Radio 2. She was in a TikTok group video chat with her classmates at the time. The second fatality, a 15-year-old in General Roca, Ro Negro, was discovered dead alongside a third child who is still in critical condition, according to the article, and they had both taken part in the blackout challenge.
